Strawberry Bed Care
The last fruits of early strawberries were harvested, the ripening of late varieties is completed. Freed from the fruits, the plants immediately begin to prepare for winter. The root system is strengthened, flower buds of the future crop are laid.

1. Cut old leaves
On frustrated bushes, old leaves should be cut. The collected mass can be laid in a compost pit or burned, since pests could settle on such leaves for the winter.
2. Remove the mustache
It is also necessary to remove the mustache, if they are not left to grow seedlings to update the ridges.
3. Take care of the soil
After this, water, loosen and feed the soil.

Growing strawberries with under cover material
Many amateur gardeners grow strawberries in a progressive way, using a special black non-woven material. It is usually sold in hardware stores. Other similar materials may be used.
Start growing berries using this technology should be from the moment of planting.
For example, a meter-wide strip is first cut from the selected material. They make ten-centimeter holes in them twenty centimeters from the left or right edge and after fifteen centimeters from each other. The strips, leaving a gap of one centimeter between them, are laid on a bed with a slope in the center.
The gap is needed for feeding and watering plants, and to better absorb moisture, you should fill the entire length of the beds with a path of sand 5–8 centimeters wide.
Wells are made through the holes. Ash is poured into each of them, mixed with the ground during heavy watering. The roots of planting material, which are covered with peat, fall into this slurry
There are practically no weeds in the garden. If once a month there is good rain, then the plants do not need additional watering.

It is also important that the berries lying on the material do not rot, plants are less affected by diseases and pests.
In order to get a crop next year, plants should be planted in the first half of July.
Have a good harvest!
